Day #2
What are the traits seen in a sociopath? For all those who have seen Sherlock, know that the incredible detective has certain antisocial mannerisms. They lack all conscience, and lack human emotion. Today I felt a little bit of that. I am sure I am no Hannibal Lector, but today struck me as weird.
I woke up in an unknown room this probably. No worries, I had slept their the day before. It was a short arrangement made for the men. So I wake up late as always, thinking, "Damn you Nachiket! Way to make an impression." So I rush down the stairs and see all of them leaving. The host asked me to stayed for some coffee and i was obliged.
Some people really start judging you when you tell them your from Dubai. I remember everytime I told someone I live in Dubai, they are probably thinking that I sleep on a bed made of pure cotton and toilets of pure gold. So when I was asked if I preferred a Western washroom to the Indian one, meri char hoke phat gayi (I got pissed).
You know how when a sibling is too frustrating you would be happy enough to sacrifice their life to Satan as offering? Happens to me everytime my sister comes to town. She believes that she can boss me around to do all the work, well it's working, which sucks. Today I finally used my younger sibling card, and told on her to my mum. Still no news of my victory though.ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
It's probably best that I didn't get any work before. Today, for the mangat(festive feast for bride-to-be) I got to be the cameraman. Sadly I was challenged by another knight at battle. They hired a professional to do what I did for free. We fought tooth and nail to get the best positions for every photo. In the end I am glad to say that I had successfully warmed my sister's camera enough to ignite methane.
The entire evening of mine finally had some fun in it. I went to see the wedding venue, I helped pick up a couple of lady friends, sadly not in the conventional way, it was because they were friends of the groom-to-be. Then i was tasked with sticking posts on thank-you presents. Probably the fastest I have ever been in my life was three hours ago when I stacked, stuck, and wrapped all the fudge boxes until I actually started sweating. Although it was probably me dancing along to music while at work.
They had pani puri for dinner which probably lit up my day. For Indians, pani puri is like bread and butter, you can have it from breakfast, lunch and dinner. I actually planned to perform at the Sangeet(singing and dancing segment) but remembering that I sound like a couple of goats while they are being sacrificed and if I danced, God save all the unfortunate. I can still hear them dancing and chatting about their flash mob, something which is completely paradoxical to what they are doing.
This is probably it for today. Might study for my SATs a bit to lull myself to sleep.
1 hour later.....
Adults underestimate children so much. Here I was standing right there waiting for someone to notice me and ask me nicely, but no. I am taller than everyone and probably more capable. It's just that people think that I would just reject their offer. Being an introvert sucks.
Goodnight.
