Acceptance Speech (Blog #40)

Fortieth blog. Wow what a journey, what a journey. I never thought I would get a chance to say this but I made it. I finally made it. And it wouldn't have been possible if it were not for all support that I was given from my friends and family. I would like to thank all of my friends, they gave me so much hope. ''Your blog sucks!'' ''Why do you act like this?" ''You are such a loner....'' ''Your blogs are shit!!'' These words are so inspiring to me, it really gave me the right amount of energy and confidence to type on my keyboard all day. I cannot believe it has been two years since I began my journey. I would like to thank the ones who didn't include me in any of the wedding festivities like the dance and all of the work that I wanted to do that wasn't given to me. If I hadn't been told to go to my room early each night while my entire family talked and chatted their ass off, I would never have gotte...

Blog #39 (Title in the body)

Again, it's been a while. Hello. Did you miss me? I would think so. You know, sometimes I like to imagine that someone on the other end reading this actually replies out loud. Feeble hopes, but still it's something that I think about everyday. I don't know what I am saying. In my last two blogs, I had decided to add content specific titles to the blog, but the only good title ideas I have are too long. So here goes. ''I got my license and I can now drive like an adult so please do not restrict me from driving the car that I want I am begging you!!!!" Boom. Said it. I passed my final test on 13th January. It was a bit late from my schedule. Basically, Dubai has a system where to get a driving license, you have to register to a driving school and learn under a government-certified instructor. You can't learn from just anyone. Unless of course, if you have a license in another country where traffic moves on the right side of the road like USA, you just ...

Down with the Corporations (Blogs #38)

Okay so the title says 'Down with the Corporations', and I had an awesome topic to talk about but I forgot what that was so this is just some filler that I have wanted to talk about for some time now. Literally everyone asks me why I started a blog and I guess this will tell you why. I always thought the reason I started blogging was because I wanted to find ways to de-stress myself. Reading is a passion. I find it pleasurable, to put bluntly. I would literally find ways to apply morals from those books into my life. So I thought, why not put a spin on that method and start writing. I was at a wedding at the time, so with nothing to do, I sought to blogging. During those days, I remember and I can't believe I am saying, but the main idea behind blogging came from...........*dissappointing drumroll*.........                  DIARY OF THE WIMPY KID                        ...

Freedom Blues (Blog #37)

I am officially back for good now. That last blog seemed kind of dramatic since nothing followed after writing that one sentence, but I have a good excuse for it, I guess. It's just that I have been watching a lot of South Park lately, and it's an amazing show. Before I start with the blog though, tell me, how have YOU been, all of my american viewers according to last month at least. You're good? That's great. Oh me.... I have been better. This extended vacation has started to take a toll on me. We decided that I should take what is essentially a gap year. We didn't start any application preparations last year so we lost some time this year. I have just been living like a hermit now for the past five months, coming out of my shelter to feed and work out. Recently I began my driving classes, stick-shift. I got pretty good at it, considering that the first time on the road had me stalling the car engine a hundred times over. It was the parking test where I showed my...

Blog #35

You ever wonder what your old self would be like? The future you. I guess we have anticipated this question throughout various times in our life. I thought of this question for the first time today. Like, really 'pondered' on it for a long time. I had to go for a get-together at a distant relative of ours. It was a death anniversary for an elderly in their family, and so he was mourned in the proper manner as is in our culture. We had a ritual, and simple food deemed as offerings to the gods. When I entered their house the first time, I heard a soft wail. I am in good terms with that group of relatives, and know their children well enough. There are two brothers who are very close to each other.  The young one is probably a year younger to me, so it figures that they might be playing and having fun. So, to give myself something to do, I walked into that room expecting to see two guys brawling it out. What I actually saw scared me a bit. The elder brother was helping up his gran...

Blog #34

Okay so I joined a gym a few days back. I only have a couple of days here more and nothing to do. Seriously, I made some new friends from my coaching classes and none of them can come with a plan. And they have lived here supposedly for more than 5 years. Every time there is an inkling of a plan in formation, everyone just wusses out. I try to help, but not too much because then I don't want to seem petty, like this one guy on the chat group, he's just so........ naggy (is that a word? No? You get what I mean.) Anyways, I joined the gym. Now I didn't have to pay a fee of service or anything, not because I was using it for less than a week, but because I had ''CONTACTS''. Well my grand-dad's a trustee at the club and he's got connections. Its the same thing. It was unreal how he coolly stepped into the fricking CEO's office and just got permission. That's power. At this gym, every member has a personal trainer. So when I got into the place...
