Blog #83 (Covid isn't stopping any time soon/ we are going to become god-awful doctors)

Just finished an assignment and I am waiting to go to the gym. It's early in the morn'. I have begun the horrible tradition of destroying my circadian rhythm by staying up the entire night and then working out for two hours on zero energy. I don't care whether it's self destructive or life-threatening because god forbid I want to bring some relief to my daily routine. (I don't think I used the 'god forbid' phrase accurately, I mean to say that I really want to  keep things fresh and reduce the mundanity of everything right now.)

It seems like common sense gets regularly thrown out of the window, especially when it comes to religion. Not even the scary four-digit statistics are enough to get the government to close down those festive bazaars that have been open for the past month. The people don't care, regulation is amateur and in some places found non-existent. India is already a cesspit for this 'syndrome', it seems that Malaysia is following suite. But, they seem to have re-introduced the MCO, as it was first held in April 2020. No intercity travel, closure of shops and eateries, same goes for schools.

I have my exams coming up in six weeks, of which one segment requires my entire batch to be present at campus for four days. My study group has been vehemently practicing for it and has high hopes of success. Now there is talk of erasing or postponing or changing the entire segment. Knowing the university, we will only receive official news after a good two weeks, hindering any progress we made and forcing us all to once again revert back to the bad old days of online examinations.

The Virtual OSCE is trash and boring. There is limited point to holding it. It is a partial examination meant to be compensation only. Pushing hap-hazard guidelines on us which only end up affecting us, delaying the inevitable.

Yes, this POV is extremely selfish, but what do you expect me to say? After having struggled so much to get back on track, just to be pushed off again because some people would rather crowd around in bazaars to break their fasts than cook and eat at home for a month.
